Terms of Use

Users and guests of GTalk Profile (www.gtalkprofile.com) agree to the terms of use and policies as outlined below, and are solely responsible for their actions.  All users and guests agree not to hold GTalk Profile, its owners, and those responsible for the development and maintenance of the site accountable or responsible for damages of any kind.  GTalk Profile reserves the right to determine if a user is in violation of these terms, and can ban a user at its discretion.  If a user or guest disagrees with any of the terms as outlined below (as well as future changes to these terms), they should not use the services offered by GTalk Profile.

GTalk Profile is intended to be used to find other users of Google™ Talk.  Users and guests of GTalk Profile can share their profile or read that of others.  The profile may display links to the profiles of other users.  While no specific guidelines or etiquette is outlined for the use of GTalk Profile, we ask users to refrain from the use of profanity, sexual references, or hateful/derogatory language.  Adult content (as defined by law) is not permitted on GTalk Profile.

GTalk Profile is not responsible for the content of user profiles.  All users agree to abide by local, state, or federal law, without exception. GTalk Profile does not monitor, censor or remove user profiles or content contained within those profiles (including external links), unless made aware that local, state, or federal law is being violated by that content.  Users should report violations of the law or conditions of these terms of use by contacting info@gtalkprofile.com.

GTalk Profile reminds users and guests to use caution when browsing profiles and communicating with other GTalk Profile users and guests.  GTalk Profile is not responsible for content seen or interactions with other users or quests of this site.

While GTalk Profile is a profile and networking service offered for use with Google™ Talk, GTalk Profile is a stand-alone service and is in no way affiliated with, partnered with, or otherwise related to Google™.  Google™ is a trademark of Google, Inc.

Age of Users

Users and guests of GTalk Profile must be at least 13 years of age, or older if required by law in the user’s locality.  Those that do not meet this age requirement should not create a user account, post a profile, or browse the profiles of others.

We want to make sure that all of our users, especially those under 18 years of age, use GTalk Profile safely. These aren't rules or restrictions—they're just tips for protecting yourself.

  • If another user requests your Google™ Talk ID, look at their profile to see if they are someone with which you want to share that information. If you are unsure, don't accept their request. Don't just accept their request without learning more about them first.

  • Never give out your street address, phone number, or other personal information to other users.

  • Don't share your age in your profile.

  • While most people you meet have good intentions, some aren't always who they say they are.

  • Trust your instincts. If you think someone is trying to convince you to give them personal information, or something just doesn't seem right, don't talk to them. There are many other people out there to talk with, so don't worry about losing a friend.

Periodic E-mails

GTalk Profile may send periodic account updates via e-mail to registered users.

Anti-Spam Policy

Spamming of any kind (using services or information provided by GTalk Profile) will not be tolerated by GTalk Profile, and users suspected of spamming will be banned.

Cookies

GTalk Profile may use cookies.  A cookie is a piece of data stored on the user's hard drive containing information about that user.  If a user rejects a cookie from GTalk Profile, that user may still use this site, but may have limited access to the features or content of the site.  Data collected from cookies on GTalk Profile may be used on an individual or aggregate basis. GTalk Profile reserves the right to allow third-parties, such as advertisers, to place cookies on the site. GTalk Profile is in no way responsible for those cookies, the data they collect, or the use of that data by the third-party.

Log Files

We use IP addresses to help analyze trends, administer the site, track user movement, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. IP addresses are not linked to personally identifiable information.

Use of Information Collected

GTalk Profile will not sell e-mail addresses or other personally-identifiable information.  The information collected may be used in aggregate by GTalk Profile or third-parties.

Registration

Guests of GTalk Profile that choose to register must be at least 13 years of age, or older if required by law in the user’s locality.  Users are reminded that information submitted to GTalk Profile (including usernames, passwords, e-mail addresses and other information) is not transmitted securely and can be intercepted by unintended parties.  Users are cautioned about selecting the same password for their GTalk Profile that they use with other websites or services. Please note that GTalk Profile will never request your account information, including your password, via e-mail.

By submitting a profile, users agree to the submitted information being shared as described below:

All of the information submitted at any time by a user, with the exception of the user’s e-mail address, password, Google™ Talk ID (except as noted below), and online status (except as noted below) will be publicly available to all users and guests.

In addition to the above statement, a user’s Google™ Talk ID and online status will be available to other users when given permission.

Security

GTalk Profile does not guarantee the security of user information transmitted to or hosted by its servers.  Users and guests accept the risks associated with the transmission of information.

Deletion of Profile and User Account

Users who wish to delete their profile and/or account should visit the delete your profile page and confirm permanent deletion of their account.

Changes and Updates to these Terms

These terms of use and policies are subject to change and update at any time, and it is the responsibility of users and guests to read those changes and updates.  Use of GTalk Profile and its services is recognition of that user’s or guest’s acceptance of the terms of use and policies as described above at the time of use.
